College of Staten Island's Women's Tennis team was defeated by William Paterson, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match in Wayne, New Jersey. The Dolphins start the season 0-2 after a loss on Saturday to St. Joseph's College- Patchogue.

The closest match for the Dolphins was in the No. 5 Singles spot. Fabianna Iannuzzi dropped the first set 6-2 before taking the second set, 6-3, and lost the final in a close 13-11 finish.

CUNY Athletic Conference's Player of the Week, Qing Li, was defeated by Sonja Pederson, 6-2 and 6-2, in No. 3 Singles while her and teammate Nancy Almazo fought hard in an 8-4 loss in No. 2 Doubles.

The Dolphins will travel to Brooklyn, NY on Friday, September 11, for a 4:00 pm conference match against Medgar Evers.
